Why did I receive a stick?

You received a stick because God saw you in your time of need and wanted you to know that not only does He have you in mind, but in His heart as well. Whether you received a stick in New York or Scotland, California or in the Carolinas, God wants you to know that He sought you out because He loves you very much.

 

Life In the Roots

The message of the Ezekiel Stick is simple, God wants you to know that He will take whatever suffering you are facing in your life right now and make it fruitful. You may ask yourself, “How can fruit come out of this incredible suffering?” Fruit is simply the overflow of the life in the root system. The question we all have to ask ourselves is where do our spiritual "roots" lie?

What is life?

God gave us His very own life in the person of His son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I have come to give you life and that more abundantly.” (John 10:10) If your roots are grounded in the life of Jesus, even in the midst of incredible suffering, God is able to make you fruitful. There is a promise of God that says, “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His promise.” (Romans 8:28) It doesn’t matter what happens, whether good or bad, if your roots are in Christ. Over time, even though it may not seem possible now, He will cause “all things” to work together for your good. There is no enemy that can rob you of this great promise of God, except one.

The Real Enemy

That enemy is our own rejection of a free gift. You see, sin has separated us from God and the only way for us to know this abundant life is to ask Jesus to forgive us for our sins. We have to allow His life to come into us and fill us. But it is a choice we all have to make. God saved you when He sent His only Son to die on the cross for you. It is God’s free gift, just like the stick that was put into your hands. You cannot earn or buy this gift, you can only accept Jesus, the free gift of eternal life. And when you do, He will immediately come into your heart and fill your life with hope and a future. All you have to do is pray to God (prayer is simply talking to God) and ask Him to forgive your sins and fill you with His life, Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

A Simple Prayer

If you have never prayed before and want Jesus to fill you with His life, you could simply repeat this prayer: “Dear Jesus, I’m sorry for my sins and ask you to forgive me. I ask you by faith to come into my heart and fill me with your life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Walk With God

Your walking stick symbolizes God wanting to walk with you and have fellowship with you. That’s why He created you, because He wants to walk and talk with you. If you asked Jesus to come into your heart, just talk with Him in your heart and walk with Him as you would a friend. He will begin to speak to you in your heart and lead you by His life that He placed within you.

God also left us with the Bible which will help you in your walk with Him. Begin to read this amazing book, especially the book of John in the New Testament.
